With a stall showcasing bamboo creations by Koccha Lohardaga's artisans, our team aimed to promote and empower local women artisans. TRIFED recognized and empanelled our bamboo tray and mobile stand, validating the quality of our products and providing opportunities for collaboration and sales. The fair provided exposure to wider markets, inspiring our artisans and raising awareness about the significance of handmade crafts. This recognition has not only motivated our artisans but also secured sustainable livelihoods for the Turi community, ensuring economic empowerment.

On July 7th, 2023, Mr. Kamal Kishor Soan, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India, visited our Bamboo Handicraft Industry in Koccha village of Lohardaga district. The purpose was to evaluate the impact of the Bamboo Handicraft Center, established under the SCA scheme.During the visit, Mr. Kamal Kishor Soan, along with the officials and representatives, was given a grand welcome at Center. He interacted with the women of the self-help cooperative society and examined the various bamboo products they had crafted. It was evident that the project had already made a positive impact on the livelihoods of the artisans. Discussions included details of artisan training programs, the introduction of modern techniques, and support in accessing materials. This visit marks a positive milestone in our commitment to empowering local communities through sustainable initiatives.
